About Harvard Alumni Disaster Preparedness & Response Team

Welcome to the social network for the Harvard Alumni Shared Interest Group on Disaster Preparedness and Response Team. We are a share and care community of individuals associated with Harvard College and University, who use this platform to reach out to one another when faced with a disaster-based emergency situation.

On this platform there are links to information on what Harvard University has in place for its current cohort of students and staff. Please note that if you are on campus, at the campus or within Harvard facilities, these pages are your go to for information and contacts.

Our SIG helps individuals and their immediate communities prepare for and recover from, ecological, environmental and medical disasters. Actions include providing impacted alumni with free and confidential advice from specialists, local linkages to critical supplies, volunteers to work directly in the aftermath of an incident, and long-term strategies to help communities reimagine urban planning, public health and education. We try not only to be a resource to help each member prepare, but also to be a vehicle to enable members to respond, especially when they have unique or special skills, in support of others.
